I have been working on a little undertaking in Minecraft recently. What started as a simple structure quickly turned into a massive undertaking when I discovered that to fit the entire thing in at the scale I was working at would require nearly the entire height limit to construct–from bedrock. So, I wanted to say that the entire thing was constructed legitimately–in Creative Mode but legitimately–so that left me with TNT.
I toyed around with various ways of clearing out a large area, but the most efficient seemed to be to simply mine TNT shafts down to bedrock, each five blocks apart. Sure, I would occasionally hit some water or lava, but I would just block around it and continue on… until this happened.
Apparently, one block is not enough padding to keep lava from igniting TNT. Also, four blocks are not enough to keep one TNT shaft from setting off the ones next to it. On the plus side, I now know that the plan will work. Also, I no longer have to worry about setting up redstone detonator wire.
